Do you ever have subject matter experts (SMEs) cringe at the words minimally competent candidate or minimally qualified candidate? Who wants their surgeon to be just barely qualified? The words used to describe the candidate who meets but does not exceed the qualifications required for a credential matters and affects the outcome of a standard setting process.

Presenters will share and discuss the results of a survey in which professionals were asked how they interpret different phrases used to conceptualize the “borderline” candidate.
