Innovation doesn’t always come in the form of a technological introduction or shift. Sometimes the largest innovations can stem from an intellectual or paradigm shift that changes the course of a program. This is even more likely in an industry, like certification, that has often been steady and consistent in its approaches for decades. This session will review the powerful changes being undertaken by one organization to evolve from the mindset of a membership organization that includes assessment, to a certification organization that offers membership.
Though this is an ongoing process, presenters will walk through the indicators that led to a time of program transformation, the mission and goals of the organizational changes, and the unique program characteristics and challenges that needed to be addressed. Most importantly, specific examples of program changes will be outlined (from organizational structure and assessment development approaches to stakeholder responsibilities and membership benefits), as well as the lessons learned and positive outcomes that are continuing to drive the ongoing program innovation.
