Shannon Carter is Chief Executive Officer at the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. She joined the organization at the beginning of 2020, bringing with her more than 20 years’ experience in association leadership, adult learning and certification. Shannon’s formal education includes degrees in communications, organizational development and leadership, which she balances with practical experience in professional associations and credentialing organizations to deliver value to members, stakeholders and industry partners. Shannon is CAE certified and sits on several association boards whose missions align with her values, and where the connections can further the interests of the ACVIM.
