Todd Galati, CAE, is the Senior Director of Credentialing and Practice Advancement for the American Council on Exercise (ACE). In this role he leads the Credentialing, Exam Registration, and Professional Education Departments, overseeing certification, recertification, and approval of continuing education. Strategic initiatives Galati has led include creating and updating certification and assessment-based certificate programs, developing and launching innovative items (e.g., video-based questions, written simulations, focused testlets), transitioning certification programs to virtual item development, IRT equating, and new test delivery methods (e.g., CBT, LRP), earning dual-accreditation for ACE certifications from the National Commission for Certifying Agency (NCCA) and to ISO/IEC 17024 Standards, and securing NCCA approvals to grant reciprocal ACE certifications to certificants from a sunsetting program. Galati currently serves on the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (I.C.E.) Accreditation Services Council, I.C.E. Government Affairs Committee, and two Committees on Accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), and he previously served on the NCCA Commission and NCCA Standards Revision Main Committee.
