The world of work is rapidly evolving, driven by technological advancements, changing demographics, and lingering effects of the global pandemic. As a result, the traditional model of education and training, together with the accompanying certification and licensure systems, are being challenged. In this interactive session, we will explore the future of work and its potential impact on certification and licensure.
The session will begin with discussion about the current landscape of certification and licensure, highlighting its strengths and limitations. We will then delve into the various trends and disruptions that are shaping the future of work, including the rise of automation and artificial intelligence, the gig economy, and the increasing demand for lifelong learning.
Using a facilitated discussion format, participants will have the opportunity to share their experiences and perspectives on how these trends are affecting their industries and professions. We will also explore emerging models of certification and licensure that are better suited to the needs of the future workforce, such as micro-credentials, digital badges, and skills-based assessments; and we’ll discuss how certification and licensure can remain relevant and valuable in the face of these changes, including new approaches to testing and evaluation, new partnerships with employers and educators, and how they intersect with these new credentialing models.
